The community of Alpine California is only a half hour drive from San Diego and the Pacific Ocean. Located just off Highway 8 on the way to the Viejas Casino, Alpine provides a welcome stop-over for food, services, gas, and shopping. Alpine has a population of 14,795. Alpine’s long history as a result of its several important topographical, biological and climatic advantages. Alpine lies on a relatively flat plateau in the Cuyamaca Mountains. This plateau was conducive to abundant springs and the mild climate encouraged a diverse plant and animal food source, making the Alpine area particularly attractive for settlement. Archaeological evidence of the Kumeyaay villages can be found throughout Alpine.
The first documented Europeans to enter the Alpine area were a small group of Spanish soldiers who were returning to San Diego from Yuma in 1782. The Mission influence peaked in the 1830s. In 1848, Ramon and Leandro Osuna owned over 13,000 acres or the entire area of Alpine. The Osuna brothers were unable to establish their claim and, as a result, 8,877 acres were sold to Don Jose Antonio Aguirre. His family owned the property until 1862.
Alpine is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Cuyamaca Mountains of San Diego County, California. The community’s name was suggested by a resident in the 1880s who said that the environment reminded her of her native country of Switzerland. The town is largely surrounded by the Cleveland National Forest and borders two reservations of the Kumeyaay Nation, Viejas and Sycuan, and the rural unincorporated areas of the city of El Cajon.
Geography and climate
It sits on both sides of Interstate 8 at the eastern extent of the California coastal region and the western extent of the Peninsular Ranges, about 30 miles from downtown San Diego, at an altitude of about 2,000 feet.
Snowfall is very rare within the town of Alpine, with trace amounts falling once out of every 2 to 3 winters. However, light snow commonly falls each winter on elevations above 3,000 feet. Rainfall averages less than 15 inches per year, falling mostly from November to March. Rainfall amounts can vary greatly from month to month, or from year to year.

How can I make a booking / reservation?
The easiest and fastest way to make a reservation or booking is through our website (whether you are on desktop or on a mobile device – you should still be able to seamlessly book a reservation for your next ride).
What is your cancellation policy?
As long as you notify us 2 hours in advance of your scheduled reservation, there is no fee charged to your account. If it is within the 2 hour window (or you are a no-show altogether), then we will have to charge you for the service as our drivers showed up and were on time.
What if I need a car seat (or have a special request)?
If you have any special requests, specify your needs when you’re booking and we will follow up (via e-mail or phone call) to make sure we can accomodate.
